21 NIGHTS IN HORROR MOVIE HISTORY

The night Wes Craven came home.

The Spring Hill Estate Mansion was home to many movies throughout the years. This Victorian modern home became very popular after the filming of SCREAM in 1996. Wes Craven and his crew spent 21 nights filming the third act of the ghost slasher. As a result, production made t-shirts that said “I Survived Scene 118”.

The Spring Hill Estate Mansion was built in 1990, by Earl J. Coates for Jack and Carolyn Macphail. It’s 4 bed (currently 5), 4 bath. The estate features 4 spacious bedrooms and 4 bathrooms—which include vintage clawfoot tubs and elegant marble vanities, a cozy library, four fireplaces, a formal dining room, two wood-burning stoves, and outstanding wood finishes throughout. The infamous kitchen boasts a walk-in pantry and high-end appliances, while the dramatic central staircase leads to both front and rear foyers. Outside, the property spans 298 acres with creek access, two traditional barns, two charming guest cottages, a 3-car garage topped by a versatile bonus room, and a serene grove of mature eucalyptus trees.
